Use visualizers

Turn on visualizers for a library#

1. Play music from your selected library, then open Now Playing.
2. Open Visualizer.
3. Select a preset, or choose Play Visualizers to resume the current selection.

Choose a preset#

Play Visualizers and Pause Visualizers leave music playing. Interact with the player to show hidden controls.

1. Open Visualizer from Now Playing.
2. Browse Built-in, Favorites, or your collections, then select a preset.
3. Open Preset Order and choose In Order, Shuffle, or Stay on This Preset.

Organize favorites and collections#

1. Use a preset’s menu to choose Favorite or Remove Favorite, and Enable or Disable.
2. Create a collection in the visualizer browser and give it a name.
3. Use Move To… or Copy To… to organize presets where available. To play a collection, open it in the Now Playing Visualizer browser and choose Play This Collection.

Import more presets#

1. Open Settings → Visualizer and choose Import Preset.
2. Choose a supported .milk file, a folder containing presets and their resources, or a ZIP archive.
3. In Import To, choose Top Level, Uncategorized, an existing collection, or New Collection, then wait for the import result.

Use imported presets on another device#

Imported presets can sync privately through iCloud on supported iPhone and iPad builds. Open Settings → Visualizer → iCloud Presets to check Sync Status.

A preset in Available in iCloud may not be downloaded yet. Open that list and choose Download before using it offline.

If a visualizer stops moving#

Paused playback, Low Power Mode, limited device resources, or missing audio data can affect motion. Remote playback may not provide the audio data visualizers need.

Resume playback on this device and open Visualizer in Now Playing. Choose Play Visualizers if shown. If an imported preset fails, try a Built-in preset.
